About Stephanie Winter

Clean Romantasy writer

My Story

Stephanie kick-started her storytelling passion with two pieces of bark and a crowd of fellow primary schoolers. Yes, you read that correctly.

In 4th grade Bob & Frank were the famous sticks of bark that would be performed every assembly. The show would end when the ‘fat lady’ (another piece of bark) would sing. For whatever comedic reason, it was always expected during show & tell, and Stephanie loved to delight an audience with her impromtu stories.

Following this, she took to writing as her  love for magical stories grew, including dragons, special abilities, inescapable fates, but also some darker themes. But when the darker themes came for her, it came in the form of cancer.

After her father passed away from cancer, she began to write stories full of hope for a brighter future.

Now, she writes to delight her readers with happy endings, underdog main characters, and places to be transported to.

Stephanie has won a category from the Stories of Life anthology, been a finalist for the Geelong Writers anthology, is a student of Thomas Umstadd’s five year plan, and is a member of the Realm Makers community. She is a Christian, a wife, a content creator, reader, and hiking enthusiast. Her favourite books include Stephanie Garber’s Caraval series, The Immortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, and Estuary by Lisa T. Bergren.

You may find her avoiding small talk, carrying an emotional-support book, dancing when its socially acceptable, or enjoying a glass of wine with a good friend.
